CARING FOR YOUR AVIATION JEWELS

Our jewelry is designed to accompany you every moment, but it requires certain care to maintain its shine and durability.

PRESERVING BRIGHTNESS

All AVIATION JEWELS items have been treated with a technique that helps prevent tarnish loss. However, it's important to keep the following considerations in mind to optimize their long-lasting condition:

  1. Your jewelry may lose its shine when exposed to the outdoors for a long time.
  2. The loss of shine or tarnish is a natural process that can be recovered by washing.
  3. We strongly recommend removing any jewelry before going to sleep, showering, or participating in any physical activity.
  4. Exposure to certain chemicals or environments can compromise the integrity of your jewelry. This includes (but is not limited to): perspiration (sweat), perfumes/colognes, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water, silver polish, etc.

CLEANING YOUR JEWELRY

Mix a little soap with semi-warm water and scrub the item with a soft toothbrush. Toothbrushes are ideal for cleaning jewelry that has hard-to-reach corners. If dirt persists, repeat the same process in clean water. Important: Gold-plated pieces require extra care. Intense rubbing can cause the plating to fade, so it's important to do so gently to avoid tarnishing the plating. A specific silver polishing cloth is a great tool for making your jewelry shine again if it has blackened over time. However, this technique won't remove any scratches or dings the piece may have.

HOW TO STORE YOUR JEWELRY

Your jewelry should always be stored away from direct sunlight and warm places, ideally in a padded jewelry box or tarnish-resistant pouch. It can also be stored in individual, zip-close plastic (polyethylene) bags. Never use rubber containers, as these will accelerate the tarnishing of the pieces and likely cause them to blacken. Under no circumstances should you store your jewelry in a bathroom or in a humid place. Please note that AVIATION JEWELS boxes are not designed to keep items in perfect condition for extended periods of time, as they are not airtight containers, and color changes may occur with disuse.

IMPORTANT NOTE

AVIATION JEWELS does not guarantee that the gold plating on our models will last forever. Gold-plated pieces are, by default, more fragile and susceptible to color fading over time. The speed at which this color fades depends on multiple factors, such as the use of chemicals on the skin, the level of body perspiration, and even the pH level of each person's skin. For this reason, it is especially important to take proper care of your gold-plated jewelry.
